Steam Upgrade

Apparently due to some internet magickery (http://store.steampowered.com/news/5856/?snr=1_550_552&utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter) Valve has made it so that in the near future Steam will allow for faster downloading of their games, as well as tinier patches and updates for your already installed titles.

Shame this is coming right after the big summer sale. I'm sure more than a few of us got frustrated now and then with some slow or troublesome game downloads.

Upcoming client releases will include things like download scheduling, bandwidth throttling, and prioritizing which games get downloaded first. You’ll also be able to download an update to a game while you’re playing that game; Steam will apply the update after you exit the game.

Very nice! The timing ratio between clicking 'install' and the duration of the subsequent walk around the neighborhood while waiting should be much better now.
